Jamie Roth is a partner in the firm and manager of the Glenwood Springs office. Jamie’s practice focuses primarily on estate and tax planning. She applies more than 25 years of legal experience in crafting effective and creative solutions for her clients and their families. She also assists families with probate and trust administrations and co-counsels with Wade Ash’s dedicated litigation lawyers on estate and trust litigation.
In her practice, Jamie has the training and experience to provide complex estate planning when those tools are powerful for the client. But she also has the wisdom to prepare simple documents when those satisfy her client’s goals.
Working closely and cooperatively with her clients to understand their concerns, Jamie finds great satisfaction in applying the most efficient and appropriate solution for every issue. She learned to explain complex legal concepts in approachable and understandable language during her extensive courtroom experience in her first nine years as a lawyer. In 2009, Jamie returned to law school (while working full time) and earned an advanced degree in tax in 2011. Since 2010, she has focused her practice on estate planning and administration. Jamie has testified as an expert witness in fiduciary litigation and argued before the Colorado Court of Appeals.
Jamie enjoys spending time with clients to create custom estate plans tailored to protect families, businesses, farms and ranches, and — most importantly — each client’s independence and dignity. She listens attentively to her client’s goals and concerns and is skilled at making complex legal and tax issues understandable. She works hard to write legal documents that are simple, elegant, and readable. A battle-tested advocate in the courtroom, she helps families navigate probate proceedings with patience and kindness. Jamie brings compassion and warmth to difficult decisions and situations.
Jamie holds an advanced degree in tax law from the top-rated tax law school in the country. She remains committed to staying on top of changes in the law through her involvement with the Trust & Estate and Taxation Sections of the Colorado Bar Association. Jamie also lectures regularly at continuing legal education courses to help other attorneys hone their skills.
Jamie has lived and worked in the Roaring Fork Valley for over 20 years. She was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado and is a third-generation Colorado native.
