Laurie
A. Hunter,
was born in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania in 1953. She
graduated from Carnegie-Mellon
University (B.A. 1975) and the
University of Denver College of
Law (J.D. 1981). Ms. Hunter has
been in private law practice in
Denver since 1981. Ms. Hunter
was elected as a Fellow in the
American College of Trust and
Estate Counsel in 1998, and she
serves on the State Laws and
Charitable Planning Committees.
Ms. Hunter is active in the
Trust & Estate Section of the
Colorado Bar Association, and is a
frequent speaker on trust and
estate issues. She was Chair of
the Section 1997-1998 and Chair
of the Colorado Estate Planning
(Orange Book) Forms Committee
2001-2002. She serves on the
Statutory Revisions Committee,
Rules and Forms Committee, and
has served on the Uniform Trust
Code Committee and the Uniform
Probate Code II Steering
Committee. Ms. Hunter was Editor
of The Green Book 1986-1996. She
was Secretary/Treasurer of the
Section 1988-1989 and 1994-1995.
Ms. Hunter is active with other
professional organizations,
including the Women's Estate
Planning Council (served as
Co-Program Chair 2005-2006);
Rocky Mountain Estate Planning
Council; and DTC Chapter of
Business and Professional Women
(Secretary 2004-2006). Ms.
Hunter is also active in the
community, particularly with
Girl Scouts (a leader for 9
years, and Unit Events
Coordinator), Boy Scouts and
Parker United Methodist Church.
Ms. Hunter's practice focuses on
estate planning, probate and
trust administration. Ms. Hunter
has an AV rating with
Martindale-Hubbell, and is also
listed in Best Lawyers in
America and Colorado Super
